This page explains what happens when you submit a cat photo and note and how this site measures visits and performance. Cat Says Hi is operated by Qomza, LLC.

Information you submit

A lookup is sent only after you choose a photo and press the submit button. Your resized photo and optional note go to Qomza through this site's Worker. With each lookup the Worker also sends request metadata: your Cloudflare connecting IP as the forwarded address, your browser's preferred language, and technical details that identify the request — the app name, version and build, platform (web), environment (development, staging, or production), the kind of request, and a request identifier. Your photo's original filename is not sent. Please do not include sensitive personal information.

How long we keep it

Qomza's gateway keeps what you send for each lookup, including your photo, note, and the request metadata described above, as well as the result it returns and related service information in its records. These records are not deleted automatically; they stay there until the gateway operator removes them. Please don't submit information you're not comfortable having kept there.

Abuse prevention

For abuse prevention, Cloudflare applies a best effort limit configured for 10 submissions per 60 seconds per connecting IP in each Cloudflare location. Enforcement can vary by location, and people sharing a public IP may share the allowance.

Site analytics

Cloudflare Web Analytics reports page views and visits with page or landing path, referring page or source, and approximate visitor country. Its browser beacon sends page and performance data, including page-load timings, to this site's /cdn-cgi/rum endpoint.
